The tail cutter is an electrically or hydraulically powered knife designed for tail-cutting Greenland halibut. It is integrated into the sideguard of a conveyor belt, ideally positioned immediately after the heading machine.

By utilizing the tail cutter and placing it directly after the heading machine, productivity can be significantly increased, and working conditions for tail cutting can be greatly improved.
