DNG jigging reels have played a significant role in the advancement of handline fishing in recent years. The company has now reached a major milestone with the introduction of a new generation of reels, called the R1, which follows the previous generation, the C6000 reel, first introduced to the market in 1995.
The motor of the jigging reel is specially designed by DNG for handline fishing. There is no need for a clutch or gears, as the spool is directly mounted on the motor shaft. The motor is a brushless step motor, meaning it has no carbon brushes on its rotor and is instead equipped with permanent magnets. The only wear surfaces are on two bearings at the shaft ends, minimizing maintenance requirements.
